Donna J Edmonds

Donna Edmonds is a member of the BioVentures MedTech Board of Advisors.  She is currently a founder and President and CEO of BRAINBox Solutions, Inc. which is developing the first objective test designed to assist in the diagnosis of concussion and provide an assessment of the risk of chronic injury.

She brings over 35 years of healthcare experience as both a healthcare provider side and a serial healthcare company leader. She has served in a senior management position for ten diagnostic companies and brings extensive experience in company formation, operations and exit negotiation.  She is also a recognized leader in cardiovascular diagnostics having helped to change the clinical practice in this space as part of the discovery, development, and commercial launch of a series of the key diagnostic products in the field.

Donna began her career as critical care nurse before migrating to healthcare provider operations and hospital administration including serving as the general manager of a large specialty physician group practice. She was recruited to Baxter International where she served in numerous  business development, sales and marketing senior roles before undertaking senior management roles in number of diagnostic companies. She subsequently founded Virginia Life Sciences Investments, Inc. which, in turn, founded several international technology startups.

Donna was a Governor appointed member of the Virginia Biotechnology Research Park and a member of the Intellectual Property Foundation Board of Virginia Commonwealth University. She is currently an elected member of the Board of Directors of Bio Health Innovations, the founding member of the BioHealth Capital Region, the Board of Directors of SouthEast Life Sciences, and an active member of Virginia Bio. She is also an Advisor to Optivio Inc. as well as Back Bay Life Science Advisors.
